About Dr. Katy Menousek
Big Institution Experience. Private Practice Access.
Dr. Katy Menousek is a licensed psychologist in Omaha specializing in psychological evaluations for children and young adults. She evaluates for ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Intellectual Disabilities. She brings years of clinical experience from some of the region's most respected institutions to every family she works with.
Experienced. Approachable. In Your Corner.
Approach
She's not going to talk over your head or make you feel like you need a medical degree to understand your child's results. Dr. Menousek takes the time to explain what the evaluation found, what it means for your family, and what you can actually do with that information, at home, at school, and everywhere in between.
Background
Dr. Menousek grew up in Gretna, Nebraska. Omaha is home, and she's built her practice here intentionally.
Her career in psychology started at Project BEST-CASE, the first ABA clinic in Nebraska, and continued at the Munroe-Meyer Institute at UNMC, where she trained in general psychology and behavioral health before moving into Developmental Pediatrics. She earned research certification in the ADOS, the gold-standard tool for autism assessments, and served as co-director of the Post-Doctoral Fellowship program, helping train the next generation of psychologists, fellows, and ABA doctoral candidates.
She went on to spend nearly five years at Boys Town, working as a clinical psychologist alongside neurologists in the Neurology Clinic. There, she completed autism evaluations in a clinical setting and gained firsthand insight into the intersection of neurological and developmental conditions.
In 2025, she opened her private practice to build something that reflects both the quality of care she aims to provide and the priorities she holds outside of work.
What Drives This Work
Dr. Menousek has family members on the spectrum. That personal connection deepened her commitment to this area long before it became her specialty. She also began her career at one of the first Autism clinics in Nebraska, where she built her passion for helping children develop language, pre-academic, and social skills.
She was drawn to evaluations because of what they make possible: answers. A diagnosis isn't just a label; it's the first step toward getting a child the right support. Having worked in ABA therapy early in her career, she saw what could happen when young children got that support early. That stayed with her.
Dr. Menousek's life outside work centers on family and the animals in her life. Family and the families she works with are what drive her.
